Wani slams admn for failing to reach out to Shia areas

SRINAGAR, July 20: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief Vikar Rasool Wani today expressed serious concern over the failure of the administration to reach out to Shia areas to review the arrangements for the smooth conduct of Muharram.
Wani also lashed out at the failure of LG J&K to call Muharram related meeting this year, terming the move disappointing and anguishing.
PCC president hit out at the administration for failing to reach out to Shia areas to review the Muharram arrangements and other facilities required to be made for the people, leading to the disappointment and anguish among the Shia community.
LG J&K has also failed to call a Muharram related meeting, this year, which is very unfortunate, Wani added  and said Congress Party condemns Govt’s inaction and inability to hold a meeting on Muharram and  strongly demands that administration must be geared up for making all arrangements for the people during the auspicious period of Muharram.
He urged upon the LG (J&K) to direct the administration to reach out  to  Shia areas and review the Muharram arrangements, without any further delay
