SRINAGAR, June 3: Minister for Roads & Buildings and Mechanical Engineering Abdul Majid Wani today visited Rambagh, Srinagar and took stock of pace of construction work on Shopping-cum-Commercial Complex coming up for the rehabilitation of shop owners displaced due to construction of flyover from Jehangir Chowk to Rambagh.
Briefing about the status of construction work on the Complex, the Managing Director, J&K Project Construction Corporation informed the Minister that the 4 storey building is coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 49.52 crore. The complex with 9672 sqms built up area would have 152 shops, 2000 sqms office space and parking space and is expected to be completed by the end of this month, the Minister was informed.
Later, the Minister along with MLA Nasir Aslam Wani visited Chanapora area to take stock of developmental activities being carried out in the area.
He said besides improving drainage system, the work on macadamization of lane and bye-lanes of Rose Lane Colony would be taken up soon.
The charter of demands presented to the Minister included levelling and macadamization of roads leading to Rose Lane Colony, installation of dewatering pump, street lights and dust bins, augmentation of drinking water and power supply, besides deployment of adequate number of Safai-karamchari in the area.
