BANIHAL, June 4: To provide the basic amenities and fulfill the public aspirations and long pending demands, Minister for R&B and Mechanical Engineering, Abdul Majid Wani and Minister of State for Technical Education, Information, Power and CA&PD, Vikar Rasool Wani today laid foundation stone of five new road projects.
These roads Kharkoot to Zabaan, Nowgam to Danner, Tethar to Takia, Shalgadi to Nagam and Karachihal to Nowgam will be completed at an estimated cost of over Rs 1250 lakh under various schems. They also laid the foundation stone of foot bridge at Banihal over Chanjloo Nallah of an estimated cost of Rs 39.17 lakh.
Later, Ministers inaugurated the flyover bridge at Ramban completed at an cost of Rs 46.82 lakh and also inaugurated the college road at Karol.
While speaking on the occasion, Minister for R&B announced Chamalwaas to Ghagn road and inspection hut building he asked the concern authorities to identify the land.
He directed the officer of Works Department to submit the DPR of road projects of unconnected areas of the district under PMGSY so that people may take benefits of Government schemes. He directed the officers of Education Department to fill up the vacant posts on ReT pattern on fast track basis.
Minister of State for Technical Education, Vikar Rasool Wani highlighted demands of the area which include up gradation of various roads including, Banihal to Neel road, completion of Dhanar to Tanzibal road, guest house and a park for Jabban village of Banihal, extention of Kaskoot Jabban road to Mahoo Mangat.
MLA Ramban, Ashok Kumar apprised the Ministers of the demands and the problems being faced by the people of the Ramban.
MLC Sham Lal, Deputy Commissioner, Shyam Vinod Meena, Chief engineer PWD, MD JKPCC, SE,PWD, SC, PMGSY, Engineers and officers of the various departments accompanied the Ministers.
