War highlights benefits of pension scheme for workers

JAMMU, Mar 9: Labour Commissioner J&K, Abdul Rashid War today urged the ITI pass outs and those pursuing the six months diploma courses in various trades and representatives of various labour unions to timely avail the pension scheme for a secured old age.
War who was the chief guest during a function held to mark the celebration of National Pension Week under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojna held at Government Polytechnic Vikram Chowk here emphasised on Donate a Pension Module where employers can donate one month to one year pension premium at one stretch for their employees.
War also appealed the eligible un-organised workers in age group of 18-40 years to get enrolled for Pradhan Mantri Sharm Yogi Maandhan Yojna through nearest CSC centers by paying a monthly premium of Rs 55 to Rs 200 and on maturity can receive a minimum pension of Rs 3000 per month. Also PMSYMY cards were distributed among the beneficiaries who got themselves registered on the spot.
The event was organized by Department of Labour ,J&K. Vinakshi Koul, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu, Ritu Jamwal, Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu also graced the occasion. The welcome address was made by Devia Nanda, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Jammu which was followed by deliberations on the Pension scheme meant for the unorganised workers.
Stage performance by Sangam Nukkad Natak Team was organised to convey the audience the importance of availing pension scheme.
