Ware House traders for extension in date for filing GST return

JAMMU, Aug 21: Traders Federation Ware House, Nehru Market, Jammu today demanded extension in dates for filing of Income tax and GST returns in view of the peculiar situation that emerged post abrogation of Article-370.
In a meeting of the Federation held today under the chairmanship of Rattan Lal Gupta, president, in presence of Deepak Gupta, general secretary, Dheeraj Gupta, senior vice president, Munish Mahajan vice president, Abhimanyu Gupta, secretary, Vishal Gupta cashier and many senior members of the Federation. The members discussed the difficulties being faced by the traders of J&K in filing of GST returns due to suspension of Internet services in the state for the last so many days, resulting into total disruption in the business activities.
Addressing the meeting, Deepak Gupta, general secretary of the Federation said that traders of Jammu firmly stand with the Government and welcome all measures that can bring lasting peace to our State that is suffering due to Pakistan sponsored terrorism. He also appreciated the patience of the business community which despite suffering huge losses is supportive of initiatives to permanently rid the state of violence and political uncertainty.
“We hope that Government would provide necessary relief to augment trade once situation becomes congenial,” Deepak added.
Federation has requested the Governor Satya Pal Malik and Advisor KK Sharma to kindly take up the matter with Union Finance Minister for the extension of date for deposit and filing of GST and Income Tax returns till the restoration of Internet Service across the State.
