JAMMU, July 6: Police here in Akhnoor area have executed the warrant of a notorious drug peddler booked under PIT NDPS Act.
A police spokesperson said that information was received through reliable sources at Police Station Akhnoor regarding the presence of a notorious drug peddler Vishal Singh @Jony of Bhagwana Chak Pallanwala at present Chandian, Akhnoor, Jammu, in the area.
On this, a special team of Akhnoor Police Station under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma was constituted. The team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq reached the suspected place and arrested the drug peddler, he said.
The accused is a notorious drug peddler and was involved in a number of NDPS cases, said the police spokesperson.
Today, in compliance to the directions by Divisional Commissioner Jammu under Prevention of Illicit Traffic of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1998 (PIT NDPS) detention warrant was executed and the accused was shifted to District Jail Amphalla Jammu after the completion of the legal formalities, added the spokesperson.
