SRINAGAR, Nov 2: Elections of Jammu and Kashmir Water Works Division Srinagar employees were held here today to choose the office bearers for three years of term.
Ghulam Nabi Nath was elected as president of the Union while Mir Mohammad Shafi was elected as general secretary, Nazir Ahmad was elected as secretary and Gowhar Ahmad Khan was elected as cashier.
Nath got 255 votes out of total number of 493 votes and defeated his rival Ghulam Rasool with a margin of 51 votes. Rasool got 204 votes, while as Firdousa Ji a third candidate for the president post got only 11 votes.
After declared as winner, Nath promised to provide every kind of support to its employees.
