JAMMU, Sept 9: Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Kiran Wattal along with Member Legislative Asembly (MLA) Bimla Luthra visited Purkho area and reviewed the progress of desilting work already taken up by the Corporation in the wake of flooding of area.
During interaction with the people, MLA and Commissioner assured every possible help to the affected people so that they could live a normal life.
Commissioner JMC also visited lower Gujjar Nagar area where large number of labourers were engaged for desilting work. He also inspected the progress of mechanical work that was going on on war footing by engaging JCB. He further inspected the Jogi Gate Cremation area where desilting was completed upto 70 per cent and the pathway meant for walking of people for carrying out dead bodies was made functional.
He instructed all the staff members of JMC to leave no stone unturned in solving the problem of Jogi Gate area. JMC has already constituted 40 teams for deployment within its territorial jurisdiction to redress the problems of affected peoples.
Wattal appealed to all the citizens of Jammu city that in case of any problem, they can approach/intimate JMC for redressal of their grievances.
