JAMMU, Mar 29: We Care Welfare Society (WCWS) and ASCOMS (Batra Medical College) Sidhra, Jammu jointly organised a free medical camp for eye and general health check up at Mansar, Block Majalta.
This camp was especially for the benefit of under-privileged, downtrodden BPL families. People from far flung areas came in large numbers to avail this medical facility.
Dina Nath Chairman Block Development Council (BDC) thanked team of WCWS and ASCOMS for holding this well organised camp at Mansar.
Prof M Sadiq Nargal, Chairman, WCWS, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the entire BDC team for rendering help in organising this camp.
Naib Sarpanch Jagdish Chander and other Panchs of Mansar, Amit Mangotra, Baldev Singh Mankotia, Pooja Devi & Tilak Raj Atri attended this camp, who helped in mobilizing people for this camp.
Dr R K Gupta, President, WCWS, thanked Principal, ASCOMS, Dr Pavan Malhotra for making available large team of highly qualified specialist doctors and para medical staff both for eye and general health check-up, for this camp. He also thanked Dr Deepika Mahajan Deputy Superintendent Medical College, ASCOMS, who coordinated the deputation of doctors and staff and medicines required for the camp. Dr Gupta also thanked BDO Vishal Sadotra, for rendering help for this camp.
Dr Rushal Gupta, Associate Prof Ophthalmology headed the team of 10 doctors and paramedical staff for eye check-up. Fifty spectacles were distributed after eye check up. Twenty three patients were screened for cataract surgery and they will be operated at ASCOMS in the coming days.
Dr Vikram Sharma, MD Medicine, Professor, lead the team of 8 doctors and paramedical staff for general health check-up. Free medicines were provided to the patients on the prescription of doctors. A total of 232 patients—142 of eye and 90 of general health check-up availed the facility at this camp.
Rajinder Gupta, General Secretary, WCWS, thanked all WCWS members who helped in organising this camp.
Sudershan Gupta, Vice President, WCWS, rendered great help especially to the women patients, for medical check-up.
