Srinagar, Oct 16: Member of Parliament from North Kashmir and Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) Chief, Abdul Rashid Sheikh alias Engineer Rashid, said today that the new Government will have his support in implementing pro-people policies.
Speaking to media persons after the swearing-in ceremony of Omar Abdullah as the new Chief Minister of J&K, along with five other Ministers, Rashid stated that he would also stand in opposition if necessary.
“He will have our support in pro-people policies and in his efforts to restore political rights. If he fails to do that, we will stand against him,” he said.
When asked if the new Government under Omar’s leadership would face difficulties in delivering, the MP responded: “He must be aware of the challenges ahead; he should have a roadmap to ensure effective delivery.”
He added, “More importantly, we would like to see what roadmap he has to fulfill his political agenda. We hope the issues of the people will be resolved.”
