POONCH, Oct 29: Senior Congress leader and CWC Member, Tariq Hameed Karra has said that the coming Parliamentary as well as Assembly elections are going to set a platform that who is going to rule J&K and how it is to be ruled for the coming years.
Karra was addressing a mammoth public gathering at Surankote in Poonch district where he appealed people to pay heed to his request that our coming generations are not going to forgive us for many reasons.
CWC Member said that he used to warn PDP also in the same way, that a disaster/political catastrophe is coming our way, it’s better to do a course correction now, otherwise, it will be a situation of no return tomorrow, and you know what happened afterwards and that is history now, Karra reminded pubic.
“It is the right time to rise above party politics, regional politics and caste politics. Let’s unite and foil BJPs communal, hatred and polarizing agenda. And if we don’t get united today there will be no tomorrow for us and for our coming generations,” Karra added.
“The only option left is the Congress. Rahul Gandhi is the only leader who stood against fascist forces and I witnessed to many episode’s as to how he (Gandhi) stood for J&K’s identity,” Karra said.
The CWC member referred to the leadership qualities of JKPCC vice president Shahnawaz Chowdhary and termed him Chowdhary a gentle man, a true secular man at heart. He is an asset for the Congress in general and Peer Panjal in particular. Karra urged upon public to make Shahnawaz strong with big win. He will be representing you in Assembly in future, he told the public.
Commenting on the BJP’s desperation to remain in power, Karra quoted some golden lines of eminent writer Mustafa Kamal Ataturk, who has rightly said decades ago, “one who utilizes religion to uphold his Govt or for the lust of power is a weak ruler, it is as if he would catch his people in a trap,” Karra told BJP.
