Gandhi Nagar firing incident solved

JAMMU, Mar 11: Bishnah police solved Gandhi Nagar firing incident with the arrest of a weapon dealer and his accomplice along with country made pistol.
As per police sources, on August 21 last year, a man identified as Yogesh was hurt after being fired by another person namely Dalvinder Bahu in Gandhi Nagar area.
The injured was shifted to hospital and a case under FIR Number 225/2019 under Sections 307 IPC and 3/25 Arms Act was registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, it came to fore that weapon dealer Vikas Kumar alias Viky, son of Gian Chand, a resident of Gorkha Nagar provided the weapon to Dalvinder Bahu to fire upon Yogesh.
Acting over the clue, police team launched manhunt to nab Dalvinder Bahu and weapon dealer Vikas Kumar alias Viky.
Meanwhile, during checking in Bishnah area today, a police team led by SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan along with SHO Bishnah Inspector Deepak Pathania intercepted a motorcycle.
During checking, police team recovered a country made pistol and 3 live cartridges from the possession of the rider and his accomplice and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as weapon dealer Vikas Kumar alias Viky and his associate Yogesh, son of Sundar Singh, a resident of Gorkha Nagar.
A case under FIR Number 44/2020 under Section 3/25 Arms Act was registered at Bishnah Police Station against them and investigation was initiated.
During initial investigation, it came to fore that Yogesh hired Dalvinder to fire upon him so as to take revenge against his in-laws. It is pertinent to mention here that in the incident, Yogesh received gun shot in his left arm and received permanent disability.
Further investigation into the case is going on and hunt also stands launched to nab Dalvinder Bahu.
The whole operation was carried under the supervision of SP Headquarters Jammu Raja Aadil Hamid and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
