Webinar on eradication of cancer organized

JAMMU, Dec 12: Dr. Ashwani Sharma an Oncologist while giving basic idea about Cancer and it’s causes stressed upon screening test in those people who do not have any symptoms.
Speaking at a webinar organised by Global Helping Hand under its mission “Aarogya ka Abhishek”, in collaboration with BLK Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, Jamwal Group of Institutions, Shri AlakhSahiba Trust, Abhi Care and others, Dr Sharma said screening tests increase the chances of detecting certain cancers in early stages when it can be treated so easily, which eventually increases the survival rate.
He gave an overview of the most common types of cancers detected in both males and females. These included breast, cervical, colon, throat, prostate and lung cancer. He asked everyone to take a Self-Assessment Test to check for any early signs or symptoms at home. Furthermore, he added about the Robotic Surgery being a good substitute and help in faster recovery. The webinar concluded by an interactive session where in the participants raised their queries about Cancer, its treatment and other allied issues related to the subject.

The webinar was e-inaugurated by Parneesh Mahajan and Joohee Mahajan. In their inaugural speech they emphasised on eradication of cancer by the means of absolute awareness of the disease in its early stages because it remains undetected with having taken over the body’s machinery of working efficiently.
Radhika Dutt and Shiksha Jalla pledged to work with utmost efforts for the respective mission by spreading complete awareness and knowledge about this fatal disease to as many acquaintances as possible. They also discussed about the causes of recurrence possibilities of the disease.
Yoginder Kaul (rtd). IGP, Initiator and Director, Col. ( retd) G.K. Raina patron (GHH) and Col. (retd) Ravi Dhar, co-ordinator also participated in the event and informed that this war against cancer was launched on the eve of 400th Year of Mata Shree Roop Bhawani and Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’s birthday celebrations by Gen.(retd) K.C. Mehta.
