JAMMU, Feb 1: Week long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “ICT Tools in Education’ commenced today at Central University of Jammu.
The FDP is being organized by the School of Education under the aegis of the prestigious PMMMNMTT scheme, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
In his inaugural address, chief guest Prof Ashok Aima, Vice-chancellor, Central University of Jammu said that this is the high time when the teachers at higher education institutions can contribute their creativity for the nation-building for which technology can play a very significant role. He further said that the time is shifting from uni-polar to multi-polar therefore teachers need to prepare themselves for making teaching transactional rather than instructional only.
Prof AP Behera, Joint-Director, Central Institute of Education and Technology, NCERT, New Delhi, delivered the key-note address and highlighted the significance of ICT in teaching-learning.
Prof Behera discussed how ICT can be integrated in the pedagogy irrespective of subjects and disciplines. He further advised the teachers to focus on “Learn, Un-learn and Re-learn’.
Prof Shaligram Prajapat from Devi Ahilya University, Indore and Prof Pradeep Mishra from CCS University were the key resource persons for today.
Earlier, Dr JN Baliya, Head of the Department and Programme Coordinator of PMMMNMTT scheme, School of Education, Central University of Jammu, presented welcome address.
Dr Ritu Bakshi, Associate Professor and Co-ordinator introduced the resource persons and mentioned that teachers from the higher education institutions of almost every part of the country are participating in the FDP.
Dr. Asit Mantry Co-coordinator of the FDP proposed the formal vote of thanks.
Faculty members Dr Kiran, Dr Aman and Dr Ravi Vanguri and scholars were present over the sessions.
