JAMMU, Nov 10: The ancient Kal Bharav temple here at Dhontly Bazar, in the heart of old city, is organising a weeklong religious programme to celebrate Shri Kal Bharav Ashtami.
In a news conference this morning Pandit Rumil Sharma, the head priest of the temple informed that the celebrations will start from Nov 25 with Prabhat Pheri at 5:00 am where the devotees of Shri Kal Bharav Ji will pass through different streets of the city reciting devotional songs and slogans in praise of the deity.
“After this there will be a bike rally to invite the devotees to participate in the spiritual congregation at Kal Bharav temple,” Sharma said adding that the rally will start from the temple and will move upto Bari Brahmana in district Samba after passing through Jewel, Gandhi Nagar, Satwari etc.
“On Nov 26 there will be a Bhandara at 1:00 pm while the very next day that is on Nov 27 a special Bhandara (Batuk Bhandara) will be held,” he said.
He further said that again on the next day on Nov 28 there will be a Bhandara in evening at 7:00 pm.
“Kal Bharav Ashtami is on Nov 29 and there will be a mass congregation of 52 Biradaris where a Bhandara will also be organised for the whole day,” the head priest maintained.
He also said that the weeklong spiritual programme will culminate on Nov 30 with a grand Bhandara.
“Flower designers and decorators are specially brought from Kolkata for decorating the temple and its adjoining areas while there will be special arrangements for lighting and sound effects,” Sharma informed inviting the devotees from across the State to participate in this unique programme and get blessings from Shri Kal Bharav Ji.
