Week long wet spell to bring snow, rains

Srinagar Dec 4: A week long wet spell that is expected to bring snowfall in the hills of Kashmir and rains in the Valley began today with upper reaches experiencing snow and plains rains.
A MeT department official said that the weather will remain wet till December 11 due to three back to back Western Disturbances. He said that it will lead to rain and snowfall in Kashmir and Ladakh.
In the meantime, hills in Kashmir experienced fresh snowfall today and Valley received rains.
Due to snowfall at Pir Ki Gali, the Mughal Road between Shopian and Poonch districts was once again closed by the authorities.
Pir Ki Gali pass received snowfall in the wee morning hours of Friday that lasted till late afternoon, resulting in closure of the Mughal road.
“The road was opened for traffic on Tuesday evening after a gap of ten days of closure due to snowfall,” an officials said.
