Rafiabad, Dec 27: Cautioning Chief Minister Omar Abdullah against the activities of corrupt elements viz-a-viz consequences arising out of it and fate of probes and enquires ordered, former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today said that both the alliance partners will have to face the wrath of electorate in elections, if actions of the Government are dissatisfying and its resolve to curb corrupt practices are half hearted.
He reiterated that there is dire need of cleaning the face of Government because people ignored threat of militants and voted for neat and clean governance hence they deserve and need answers in this regard. Mr. Vakil was addressing various meetings in Rafiabad area of district Baramulla today.
Mr Vakil said that the tenure of present coalition is at the fag end and outcome of the probes till date ordered by this Government are not in sight. He said that probes in respect of purchase of sub standard pipes or spurious drugs is now a forgotten chapter and people who minted or swindled tax payers money are in a holiday mood besides occupying plum posts and have gone scot free and till date no responsibility has been fixed and instead dormancy of the Government is visible.
Common man is desperately waiting and eager to know about outcome of probes ordered and fixing of responsibility from ‘santri’ to ‘mantri’ because Sarva Shishka Abihyan belongs to him and school buildings which only existed in paper work were for his kids and other poor children and 80 percent buildings are nonexistent involing money to the tune of Rs 560 crore and people will never forget NREGA scam and still no justice has been delivered to the victims of nepotism and corruption, Mr Vakil added. He said that people are also anxiously waiting for outcome of GB Panth Hospital probe also where infant deaths is a routine issue.
AICC member said that during the present regime no instance of confiscating of property of any corrupt officer was reported that resulted in gaining of courage by unscrupulous elements and spreading of corruption menace became unabated.
Appreciating the recent war started against corruption by Rahul Gandhi and Omar Abdullah but Vakil stressed on both the leaders that words have to be translated into action then only it will be result oriented and people will repose faith in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Omar Abdullah. He said that common masses never forgive tainted persons and expressed serious concern over the fact that situation is turning towards a dangerous trend and to save it from worsening there is an urgent need for time bound concrete action, implementation of stringent anti corruption laws and awarding punishment to guilty without any fear or favour so that system is once again diverted to a right track as was done during the regime of Ghulam Nabi Azad to maintain credibility of each and every Government institution, Vakil added.
