NEW DELHI, Mar 3: Wheat and few other bold grain prices fell by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to reduced offtake against ample stocks position.
Traders said besides reduced offtake by flour mills, ample stocks position on pick up in arrivals from producing regions mainly kept pressure on wheat prices.
Easing demand from consuming industries helped other bold grain prices to trade lower, they said.
In the national capital, wheat (desi) and wheat dara (for mills) fell by Rs 50 and Rs 20 Rs 2,500-2,800 and Rs 1,840-1,850 per quintal respectively.Atta chakki delivery followed suit and enquired lower by Rs 30 to Rs 1,850-1,880 per 90 kg.
Other bold grains, jowar yellow and white drifted lower by Rs 100 each to Rs 1,600-1,650 and Rs 3,350-3,550 per quintal.
Bajra, maize and barley too eased to Rs 1,400-1,410, Rs 1,550-1,560 and Rs 1,700-1,720 against last close of Rs 1,430-1,440, Rs 1,580-1,590 and Rs 1,750-1,770 per quintal respectively.
