Wheat crop worth lakhs gutted

KATHUA/SAMBA, May 4: Wheat crop worth lakhs was gutted in nearly half a dozen incidents in Kathua and Samba districts since last night.
Reports said  standing dry wheat crop belonging to  Sher Singh and Zirawar Singh on 16 kanal at village Kolpur in Ramgarh was destroyed in a fire incident last night. The crop of  Madan Lal and Vijay Kumar was also gutted in the adjoining an area of eight kanal of  land. The farmers suspect some sabotage.
Meanwhile, over 50 bundles of wheat crop of one Prem Lal at Badoli, 300 bundles of  Yash Pal and Rashpal at Badla village, 150 bundles of  Dharampal  and crop on 37 kanal of land at Lachipur in Kathua were gutted today. The police has taken cognizance.
