Wheat eases on adequate supply

NEW DELHI, Aug 17:  Wheat prices fell by Rs 10 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today on adequate supplies against reduced offtake by flour mills.
However, a few other bold grains moved up on increased demand from consuming industries.
Traders said adequate supplies against reduced offtake by flour mills led to decline in wheat prices.
They said however, increased demand from consuming industries against limited arrivals from producing regions helped other bold grain prices to trade higher.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) declined by Rs 10 to Rs 1,570-1,575 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1575-1580 per 90 kg.
On the other hand, bajra and maize rose by Rs 50 each to Rs 1190-1200 and Rs 1,410-1,415 per quintal, respectively. Jowar yellow and white also moved up by Rs 25 each to Rs 1,525-1,575 and Rs 2,425-2,625 per quintal respectively.
