Wheat, rice basmati prices rise on fresh buying

NEW DELHI, May 18: Prices of wheat and rice basmati edged higher on the wholesale grains market today on fresh buying by flour mills and stockists.
However, other grains remained steady in restricted trade.
In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 40 to Rs 1,500-1,505 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,505-1510 per 90 kg.
In the rice section, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety also moved up by Rs 200 each to Rs 8000-8100 and Rs 7900-8500 per quintal respectively.

Wheat MP (deshi) 2,000-2,200, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,500-1,505, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,505-1,510, Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 210, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 210, Roller flour mill 790-810 (50 kg), Maida 820-850 (50 kg) and Sooji 950-990 (50kg).
Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 10,000, Shri Lal Mahal 10,000, Super Basmati Rice, 9,500, Basmati common new 8,000-8,100, Rice Pusa-(1121) new 7,900-8,500, Permal raw 2,300-2,550, Permal wand 2,500-2,600, Sela 3,500-3,600 and Rice IR-8- 1,900-1,950, Bajra 1,400-1,405, Jowar yellow 1,525-1,575, white 2,225-2,425, Maize 1,390-1,395, Barley 1,260-1,265, Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
