Wheat slips on reduced offtake, ample stocks

NEW DELHI, Apr 15:  Wheat prices fell by up to Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale grains market today due to reduced offtake by flour mills against sufficient stocks position.
Maize, however, edged up on uptick in demand from consuming industries.
Traders said besides reduced offtake by flour mills, adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from producing belts mainly put pressure on wheat prices.
Higher output this year also put pressure on wheat prices, they said.
