‘Where’s our friend Farooq Abdullah’, asks DMK leader Baalu

NEW DELHI,: The DMK on Tuesday wanted to know the whereabouts of National Conference leader and sitting Srinagar Farooq Abdullah and alleged that he was “missing”.
During the debate in Lok Sabha on Statutory Resolution on Article 370 vis-a-vis Jammu and Kashmir and other relevant draft laws, DMK floor leader T R Baalu raised the issue and said an atmosphere of undeclared emergency prevailed in Jammu and Kashmir and top state leaders have been arrested and no body knew where they are.
“Where is my friend Dr Farooq Abdullah, who is a member of the House?,” Mr Baalu asked adding the Home Minister (Amit Shah) is here and the House has right to know about it.
His colleague Dayanidhi Maran raised the issue again and read from a rule book to strengthen his argument demanded to know where was Farooq Abdullah.
Mr Baalu also wanted to know where PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti was and said no body is sure whether she too has been arrested.
According to reports in a section of the media two former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah were kept under house arrest since Sunday last.
People’s Conference chairman and former BJP ally, Sajjad Lone too was taken into custody later.
