Widow among three killed in accidents

JAMMU, June 24: A widow was among three killed in road accidents at two different locations in district Kathua.
Police spokesman said that, a widow namely, Beena Devi, wife of Late Subash Chander, resident of Palli, was crossing the road, when an army vehicle hit her near Palli area of the district Kathua.
The widow was rushed to district hospital, Kathua, from where she was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). At GMC hospital, she failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to injuries.
The body was handed over to legal heirs after autopsy, while, a case has been registered at Kathua Police Station and investigation started.
The spokesman added that, a speedy car knocked to death a motorcyclist near Hatli Morh, in the district.
The deceased identified as Shambhu Nath, son of Vikram Dutt, resident of Hatli Morh, was riding motorcycle, when a car bearing registration no DL4C 7675, hit him near Hatli Morh, spokesman said.
The seriously injured Shambhu Nath was shifted to district hospital, Kathua, from where he was later referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). At GMC Hospital he failed to respond to the treatment and died, he said, adding, that the driver of the car namely Gourav Gupta, resident of Delhi was arrested.
The body was handed over to family members after postmortem, while, a case has been registered at Kathua Police Station.
In another incident, a tractor driver namely Mangal Dass, son of Basant Raj of Hatli Morh, was seriously injured, when a truck hit him in the Kathua district.
He was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where he failed to respond to the treatment, and succumbed to his injuries.
A case has been registered at Kathua Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a person, his two daughters and sister were injured, when a minibus, hit the motorcycle they were riding on, near Greater Kailash area of the winter capital.
Identified as Govind, son of Chadha Ram, his two daughters Muskaan and Mehak and sister, Vaishno Devi, were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where there condition was stated to be stable, when last report came in.
