Sir,
It is to be believed that just an increase of Rs 25 was given as a hike to poor widows and old aged during the last 10 years. It is also to be believed that a massive hike of salaries to the State legislators as much as by 500 percent was recorded during the same period.
Not to speak of travelling and other expenses or other perks including the most comfortable costly cars and vehicles. While as an MLA draws a medical allowance of Rs 1000 per month, is also entitled to Rs 1,00,000 annually as railway and air fare reimbursement, the pensioners are given only lectures and promises never to be filled. Pensioners who otherwise should have got a better deal at the fag end of their life, are compelled to stage protests and demonstrations.
Agreed their voices are now frail and weak but their expectations from the Government are strong. Can the Government look into their problems especially about the arrears of 6th Pay Commission in one instalment, remove the anomalies in SRO 99 and enhance their medical allowance?
