SAMBA, Nov 25: A lady died while her husband was seriously injured in a road accident on Samba-Kathua old road near Rajpura, border area of Samba district late last night.
According to police, the couple was returning from the marriage ceremony to their home in Mareen area of Kathua district late last night when suddenly the motorcycle lost balance near Rajpura Police Post and skidded in the middle of the road, due to which both husband -wife were seriously injured. With the help of local people, the police took both the injured to the District Hospital Samba where the doctor declared the woman as brought dead while the husband is undergoing treatment.
The deceased woman has been identified as Anju Devi, wife of Sudarshan Kumar, resident of Kishanpur tehsil, Marheen district, Kathua, while the injured person has been identified as Sudarshan Kumar. The body of the deceased was handed over to the family for last rites after conducting a post-mortem in District Hospital Samba on Monday. In this regard, the police have registered a case and started further investigation.
