RAJOURI, Oct 7: The concluding function of wildlife week celebration in Jammu region was held today at Shachera Conservation Reserve in Rajouri.
The celebration concluded with a wildlife awareness programme cum symposium held in Shachera Wildlife Conservation Reserve. Wildlife staff of Rajouri-Poonch Wildlife Division, school children from Gujjar Hostel Rajouri, nature lovers, environmental activists and locals participated in the symposium.
The school children were informed about the wildlife conservation and short documentaries on bird watching and man-animal conflict were shown to the children and audience at Nature Interpreted Center, Shachera Conservation Reserve.
At the end of the symposium the equipments used by the wildlife department in man-animal conflict resolution, bird watching, etc were displayed for the information and knowledge of the children.
The Regional Wildlife Warden Jammu, Tahir Shawl presided over the function and interacted with the students and Wildlife staff of the Division.
Other speakers who speak on the occasion include NC Sharma, Wildlife Warden, Rajouri-Poonch Division, Pankaj Chandan, Programme Organizer, WWF-India, Maharajkor Singh Ishar, a prominent wildlife enthusiast & nature photographer, Mohammad Aslam Mirza (educationist) and poet, Sudesh Kumar Choudhary, Range Officer, Wildlife Range Rajouri-Poonch and Masued Ahmed, Assistant Director, Forest Protection Force Rajouri.
The programme was conducted by Mushtaq Ahmed, Wildlife Division Rajouri-Poonch.
