Will learn a lot from Ajay Devgn, Gajraj Rao: Rudranil

KOLKATA: Bengali Actor Rudranil Ghosh, who has landed a major role in a Bollywood film on the golden era of India football, said he hopes to learn many things from co-actors Ajay Devgn and Gajraj Rao.

Ghosh said director Amit Sharma of ‘Badhaai Ho’ fame had approached him for the role earlier this year and his

shooting began on Monday.

“Mr Ajay Devgn and Mr Gajraj Rao are my main co- actors. They are experienced and helpful too. Many things to learn from them. My role is also very challenging,” he said.

Ghosh whose shooting began on Monday refused to disclose much about his character.

“Amit Sharma cast me after seeing my Tollywood works. While Gajrajji knows me very well through my Bengali films like Chaplin and Vinci Da. They like my earlier films and

acting,” he said.

The film, with the working title of Maidan, is based on the golden era of Indian football and how the team, under

the guidance of S A Rahim, had brought glory to the country during 1952-62, according to reports.

Reports said Devgn essays the main lead of the film and Ghosh plays an important member of the football

federation.

This is Ghosh’s second innings in Bollywood, after Michael (2011) by Ribhu Dasgupta where he had been cast

opposite Naseeruddin Shah. (AGENCIES)
