PATNA, Dec 28: Founder of ” Jan Suraaj ” Prashant Kishor on Saturday warned Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that he would not allow him to turn democracy into lathicracy ( lathitantra) in Bihar.
Kishor popularly known as PK told media persons here that he had met agitating BPSC aspirants twice in the recent past and assured them of his full support to their demands. It was painful to note that BPSC aspirants were lathi-charged when they had taken out a protest march demanding the cancellation of earlier tests conducted by the commission and holding a fresh examination as paper leaks had marred the earlier one, he added.
” In a democracy, anyone has the right to raise his demand peacefully but those raising their demands were being lathi-charged “, he said adding that such an approach of the government was turning the democracy into lathicracy (lathitantra) which would not be allowed at any cost. Democracy was being turned into lathi tantra by the Nitish Kumar government, he lamented.
” A students’ parliament would be organised beneath the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Sunday to discuss the serious issue of holding not only afresh the Preliminary Test of 70th combined competitive examination conducted by BPSC earlier but also holding fairly all other exams for recruitments in future “, PK said and invited all students to participate in the parliament. Only students themselves would lead the agitation and his role would be of a facilitator, he maintained.
