JAMMU, Sept 28: The Jammu & Kashmir Congress has vowed to restore the historic Darbar Move tradition if the Congress Party voted to power in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The Darbar Move has been a symbol of unity and equitable development in Jammu and Kashmir for over a century. Its suspension has disproportionately affected the economy of Jammu, especially small traders, hoteliers, and local businesses. If voted to power, we will ensure the immediate restoration of this practice to revive economic opportunities and bridge the growing divide between the Jammu and Kashmir regions,” JKPCC chief Tariq Hameed Karra said while addressing a public meeting in support of T S Tony in Bahu constituency this evening.
JKPCC president urged people to rally behind Tony, a committed leader who understands the aspirations of the people. He lauded Tony for his dedication and determination to address the pressing issues facing Bahu constituency, stating that Tony’s victory would mark the beginning of a new era of development and prosperity in the region.
Addressing the meeting, Tony echoed Karra’s sentiments and laid out his vision for the constituency. He vowed to work tirelessly for the development of the region, emphasizing infrastructure upgrades, access to clean drinking water and the improvement of healthcare services.
“The people of Bahu have been neglected by the current leadership. My mission is to uplift every section of society by ensuring better road connectivity, enhanced public services, and creating job opportunities for the youth,” said Tony.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to continue his fight for restoration of statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, stating that the removal of Statehood has left the people politically and economically disenfranchised. “I will fight for the rights of the people of Jammu and ensure that Bahu becomes a model of growth and development,” he added.
Tony urged the public to come out in large numbers to vote for a progressive and inclusive leadership.
