JAMMU, Feb 14: Governor Satya Pal Malik today declared that terror attack on the CRPF personnel in which 44 jawans were martyred, will be responded with full force and the terrorism will be wiped out completely from the State even as he blamed some of the Valley-based politicians for vitiating atmosphere during past fortnight saying today’s incident was also result of that.
Malik, who spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh after the attack, admitted that it was definitely a security lapse that the militant managed to transport such a large quantity of explosive material in a car to the site of attack but didn’t agree on the Intelligence failure saying the inputs were pouring in about such an attack.
Speaking to some media persons after the dastardly terror attack left 44 CRPF jawans martyred, Malik blamed Pakistan for the attack saying militants and their mentors were frustrated as they were unable to cause any major incident in the Valley especially during Panchayat and Municipal elections, which were held peacefully.
“The terror attack will be responded with full force. Hum terrorism Ka Naamo-Nishaan Mita Denge (we will completely finish the militancy). Those who executed the attack and those, who were behind them, will not be spared,’’ Malik declared.
He said it was a 100 percent Pakistan-sponsored terror attack and the Government has intercepts of the conversation in which Pakistani militants were asking their associates to cause some big attack after successful Panchayat elections, virtual negligible stone pelting incidents and end of local recruitment during last four months.
Today’s attack was executed on the pattern of Afghanistan, Malik said.
The Governor took some of the Kashmir based politicians to task, albeit without naming them, saying during past 15 days, they had vitiated atmosphere in the State with their statements on “communalism’’ and charging the Government with playing with the fire and what not.
“This incident is the result of that,’’ he asserted.
Without naming PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti, the Governor charged some politicians with supporting militancy and reaching houses of the militants even before they are killed.
Malik said during the Chief Ministership of Mehbooba Mufti, some decisions were taken by the Government which gave boost to terrorism and lowered morale of security forces.
Admitting that it was a security lapse that the militant managed to carry large quantity of explosive material to the site of terror attack, Malik said security system is reviewed from time to time and he would hold high-level security review meeting after next 2-3 days to devise strategy to deal with the militants.
However, he asserted that it wasn’t an Intelligence failure as inputs had been pouring in about the terror attack.
Meanwhile, Malik has directed immediate enhancement of surveillance and review of the security management of all important installations and establishments in the State, in the aftermath of today’s terror attack.
He urged all the security forces’ Commanders to enhance surveillance on every front and directed the district and divisional civil and police administration to immediately review the security management of all important installations and establishments.
Malik has conveyed his grief and sincere sympathy to the families of the brave soldiers, who lost their lives in the attack, and prayed for an early recovery of the injured.
Meanwhile, the Governor is visiting Srinagar tomorrow to pay tributes to the martyrs.
