‘Party committed to welfare of masses’

JAMMU, Aug 31: Maintaining that BJP is voice of people in Jammu and Kashmir, party national general secretary and incharge J&K and Ladakh UTs Tarun Chugh today said that his party is committed to work for welfare of people of J&K.
Chugh, who was on three days tour of the Jammu to participate in various Core Committee meetings during here ,today told Excelsior that BJP boasts of eradicating a blot in the shape of Article 370 from J&K and also eradicating terrorism by bringing tourism in the UT.
He said BJP does not face any threat from any political party in the coming elections as Party has fulfilled a dream of the people by eradicating Article 370. “Our agenda is welfare of the people of the J&K and in this regard party is going to launch many public welfare programmes beginning from September 17 to October 2 this year.
Chugh does not see that his party will face any challenge from former Union Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad who is going to float a new political party shortly saying that formation of political party by Azad will hardly make any difference for BJP.
He said BJP will organise countrywide porgrammes beginning from September 17 -the birthday of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, with birthday of former Jan Sangh president, Deen Dayal Upadayay on September 25 and birthday of Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 by observing it as Sewa, Samarpan and Atmanirbhar Bharat (Service, surrender and self reliant India) fortnight.
During these fortnight long programmes party will hold medical camps, seminars exhibitions, TB eradication camps, environment purity plants, further the vaccination programme, hold intellectuals meet to highlight the Narendra Modi Government schemes Har Ghar Jal and Swatch Bharat etc.
Chugh said the BJP held meetings district Core Committees, Core Committees of party Cells during last three days which was followed by UT Core Committee meeeting this evening.
He said in the UT Core Committee meeting, besides the prevailing political situation the organizational matters and future programmes for further strengthening party at grass root level were threadbare discussed. He said BJP is always ready for elections. But main stress in these meetings was given to strengthening of party at booth level.
Earlier while addressing Core Committee of BJP Cells Chugh said party Cells will increase the base of BJP.
J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, national secretary Dr. Narinder Singh, general secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Dy. CM Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, former MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, general secretary, Vibodh Gupta, general secretary Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal and All Cell Incharge Rakesh Mahajan accompanied Tarun Chugh in the meetings.
Senior party leader, Devender Singh Rana, former Ministers Sham Lal Sharma and Bali Bhagat were among others in the meeting.
J&K Incharges & Co-Incharges of BJP Cells, senior party leaders from districts Core Groups of Udhampur, Reasi, Jammu Rural and Akhnoor participated in separate meetings.
Tarun Chugh stressed that in the coming elections in J&K, the BJP would form the Government on its own and all the Cells of the party along with other activists have to play an important role in ensuring the same. He also said that the welfare and development policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have brought dramatic change in minds of the people in J&K. People want peace and progress that the Prime Minister has given to J&K and all party activists must do their part effectively.
Ravinder Raina said that BJP ground-level workers are the “key to success” of the party. BJP activist is always ready to undertake any uphill task and move together for the success of mission, which is “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas”. Posing faith in their efficient working he said that they need to give further pace to their organizational and development tasks while working in accordance with the expectations of the common masses.
