SAMBA, Jan 30: In this modern era people are still facing water crisis. Nowadays there is a major problem for the people of Village Dunai in district Samba where inhabitants of the village are getting water from the natural resources by digging small wells in the village because the water pipeline is totally damaged for decades but Jal Shakti Department failed to maintain the damaged pipeline and the people are forced to get water from these small wells.
As per sources the Central Government has announced to give tap water supply to the every household of the country by the year 2022 but the current scenario shows that this target will not be accomplished because the ground reality of the Department is something else and even in this modern era people living in the remote areas are facing acute shortage of drinking water.
According to Naresh a local resident of the village the people are forced to get the water from the natural resources because pipeline is totally damaged and still not repaired by the Department and though people of the village met with the officials of the Department many time but the problem is still not solved. Locals also said that this natural water is not safe for them because sometimes animals drink this water and sometimes insects get into it. This natural water is infected and anyone who drinks this water getting sick because people do not have other source of water in the village, he added.
The locals demanded for the early maintenance of the water pipeline so that villagers gets clean water supply.
