JAMMU, July 21: Demanding withdrawal of trapped Secretariat and other Darbar move employees of Jammu region from Kashmir, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) today sought functioning of Civil Secretariat at Jammu with full powers in view of turmoil and curfew in Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference here today, Dogra Sadar Sabha president Gulchain Singh Charak (former Minister) said that executive committee of the Sabha organised a meeting at Sabha Bhawan on Wednesday to discuss the law and order situation in Kashmir which has affected the whole State particularly Shri Amarnath Yatra. Various speakers expressed their concern on the situation and held responsible to the Central and the State Governments for the present situation.
The members noted with concern the frequent disruptions of the functioning of the Govt because of strikes/bandhs called by the separatists particularly when the Secretariat functions from Srinagar, as a result, this not only makes the Jammu employees insecure and vulnerable to attacks by the antinational elements but also make Govt and Secretariat inaccessible to the people of Jammu.
The problems further aggravate, when the Govt puts ban of telecommunications, internet- etc. There was a system of summer/winter Secretariat to process the cases of respective Divisions, but that system also stands discontinued. Dogra Sadar Sabha demanded immediate withdrawal of Jammu employees and start of functioning of Secretariat at Jammu, so that people do not have to face any problem for their cases of Secretariat level.
Mr Charak also demanded immediate restoration of internet and other communication services which have been discontinued and the people of Jammu province have been put to a great financial loss.
The DSS condemned Pakistan for fomenting trouble in Kashmir which has created problems not only for the locals but whole of State including tourists, Amarnath Yatris who also suffered physical damages and damages to the vehicles. The Sabha expressed its concern and sympathies for the security forces and innocent-civilians who lost their lives in the turmoil.
DSS also passed resolution and condemned Pakistan for fomenting trouble in Kashmir. The Sabha appealed the people of Jammu to beware of any nefarious designs of Pakistan and not-pay heed to the rumours to maintain peace and communal harmony in Jammu region. DSS also appealed to civil society of Kashmir to ensure security and safety of people of Jammu, the tourists and the Yatris in Kashmir.
