Woes of Border people

Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Border villagers resent Govt apathy, seek plots in safer areas’ DE Jan 5.
After  a brief lull, the situation at the border is back to square one. Hardly had these people settled, that they had to leave their homes and hearths for safety once again. The people have been subjected to great inconvenience in the biting cold that has engulfed the State.
The problem gets further  compounded when official machinery remains apathetic to the needs of the suffering masses. Their resentment against the machinery can be understood, and be taken care of.
It may be mentioned here that promise of providing them plots in safer areas should be fulfilled at once. These people can’t be made to suffer for no fault of theirs.
Arrangements should also be made for education of their children, so that they do not lose their precious years of study. Cattle which is source of their livelihood should also be taken care of by the administration.
Yours etc…
