Woman alleges police atrocities, medical conducted on court directions

JAMMU, May 8: A woman, who was arrested few days back on the charges of alleged theft, has alleged police atrocities in the custody.
As per a viral video on social sites, a lady namely Seema Devi, wife of Suraj Kumar, a resident of Dhyaran has alleged police atrocities during her custody in Kanachack police station.
In the video, she has alleged that SHO Kanachack along with his three other associates including a lady cop had done some unnatural offences with her during custody.
As per police sources, a preliminary inquiry was conducted on the allegations leveled by the lady, but nothing was found during medical conducted by the police department.
The lady was arrested in burglary case and the stolen jewellery was also recovered from her possession, sources said, adding that some persons have enacted this episode to settle some issues with SHO Kanachack.
The lady was shifted to Women Cell and on the directions of City Court, a medical was conducted by the board of doctors at GMC Jammu, the report of which has been submitted to the City Court in sealed envelop, police sources informed.
When contacted SP Rural Arun Gupta said that the matter is sub-judice and they are waiting for the directions from the City Court.
