JAMMU, Nov 26: Police today arrested a woman narcotic smuggler and her father-in-law while her husband managed to slip away during a raid conducted by police on their house at Malik Market in Rajouri town this morning. Police recovered 18.5 kg charas during the raid.
Reports said a team from Rajouri police station raided the residence of Mukhtar Mohammad at Malik Market after getting an input that he had concealed 18.5 kg charas in his house. While Mukhtar escaped during the raid, police arrested his wife, Parveen Akhter and father Mohammad Yousuf.
The consignment of 18.5 kg charas was recovered from the house, reports said.
Police have booked the accused under NDPS Act at Rajouri police station and started a search for Mukhtar Ahmad to ascertain source of the narcotics consignment.
SHO Rajouri Inspector Varinder Gupta headed police parties in the search under the supervision of SSP Rajouri Mubassir Latifi.
