Woman among 2 LeT associates held

SRINAGAR, Apr 11: Security forces today arrested two militant associates of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) including a woman in Pattan area of Baramulla district and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

“Acting on specific information regarding movement of militant associates, police along with Army (29RR) and SSB (2ndBn) busted a terror module at Pattan Baramulla and arrested two militant associates linked with LeT,” a police spokesman said in a statement
They have been identified as Farooq Ahmad Parra son of Ghulam Ahmad Parra, resident of Par Mohalla Pattan and Saima Bashir daughter of Bashir Ahmad Mir resident of Chinkipora Sopore and have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
“On their disclosure, arms and ammunition including a pistol, two pistol magazines, five pistol rounds and 2 kg IED along with remote control and other incriminating materials have been recovered,” police said.
During preliminary questioning, the arrested duo revealed that they were working as militant associates with active militant Abid Qayoom Lone of Wussan Pattan.
Accordingly, police said that a case under relevant Sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pattan and further investigation has been initiated.
