JAMMU, May 12: Bishnah and Arnia Police arrested two persons along with illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on reliable information about sale of illicit liquor, a team from Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Inspector Joginder Chib conducted raid at village Kotli Charkan and apprehended a woman along with 10 litres of illicit liquor.
The arrested woman was identified as Veena, wife of Suram Chand, a resident of Village Kotli Charkan Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 82/2021 under Section 48 (a) Excise Act read with 188 and 269 IPC has been registered against the woman at Police Station Bishnah and investigation initiated.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Arnia led by SHO Inspector Harjeet Singh arrested a man along with 5 litres of illicit liquor and destroyed 75 litres of lahan.
The arrested person was identified as Bahadur Singh, son of Sai Dass, a resident of Nekowal.
A case under FIR Number 34/2021 under Section 48 F Excise Act and 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Arnia and investigation initiated.
It is pertinent to mention that 300 litres of lahan was also recovered from another location i.e Marhol area in the jurisdiction of Police Station Arnia and destroyed on the spot.
The whole operation was done under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan.
