Woman arrested for running fake job racket

JAMMU, July 16: Pacca Danga police today arrested a woman for running fake job racket and extorting money from the youth on the assurance that she would arrange jobs for them in the Civil Secretariat.
The arrested woman has been identified as Pummy Koul wife of Avtar Krishan Koul, a resident of Jagti Quarters, Nagrota.
Police said Pummy Koul had charged Rs 30,000 from Anjar Iqbal son of Mohammad Rafiq by disclosing her identity as Shamim Akhter. She had also assured another youth Mohammad Ashraf son of Abdul Qadir of arranging job. The deal per job had been settled at Rs 1 lakh.
Anjar had paid Rs 30,000 to Pummy Koul alias Shamim Akhter.
Getting a complaint from Anjar, Pacca Danga police teams headed by SHO Inspector Vijay Choudhary swung into action and arrested the woman. Police recovered Rs 27,000 from the woman. A case has been registered against her at Pacca Danga police station for further investigations.
