RAJOURI, Nov 13: The police has booked a woman for abandoning body of her newly born baby in Rajouri river.
A police spokesman said that the body of a newly born baby was spotted in a rivulet near Nabhan Mohalla, Rajouri on Nov 9, 2023. After it, a formal case FIR No. 517/2023 U/S 318 IPC was registered at Police Station, Rajouri and investigation taken up.
The police team headed by Incharge Police Post, Rajouri City, PSI Sahil Choudhary under the supervision of SHO Rajouri, Insp Aejaz Ahmed Wani launched probe. During course of investigation and from reliable sources, it came to fore that the newly born baby was delivered by Parvaiz Akhter, wife of Naheem Ahmed, who is resident of village Niaka Panjgrian, Rajouri.
Investigation further revealed that the accused Parvaiz Akhtar had delivered this baby at GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri and the family while returning to home abandoned the baby in rivulet water. Legal action has been taken against the woman.
