Woman bootlegger held

JAMMU, July 9: Police in Bishnah area claimed here today that they have arrested a woman bootlegger with 8 litres of desi liquor. 100 litrtes of lahan made by the accused woman has also been destroyed by the police on-the-spot.
A police spokesperson said that an information was received through reliable sources that a woman identified as Veena Devi of Karail Manhasan Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu, was selling illicit liquor to her customers near her home.
On this, a party of Police Station Bishnah swung into action, raided the suspected area, and apprehended the accused woman along with 8 litres desi liquor. The police team also destroyed 100 litres of lahan on-the-spot.
The accused has been booked in case FIR Number 162/2023 under section 48(A) of the Excise Act registered at Police Station Bishnah and further investigation taken up.
The entire operation was carried out by a team headed by SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna assisted by SHO Bishnah Inspector Vikram Sharma under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
