JAMMU, July 29: A woman bootlegger was arrested by Police in Bishnah area here today.
A police spokesperson said that information was received through reliable sources at Police Station Bishnah that a woman, Ayodhya Devi of Joian Teshsil Arnia, District Jammu, was selling illicit liquor to her customers at Joian.
On this, he said, a team of Bishnah Police led by SHO concerned, Inspector Vikram Sharma, under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna, raided the suspected spot and arrested the accused woman besides recovering 7 litres of illicit liquor from her possession.
The accused woman has been booked in case FIR number 179/2023 under section 48(a) of the Excise Act registered at Police Station Bishnah and further investigation taken up.
