JAMMU, Jan 25: A woman allegedly committed suicide in RS Pura area while a young man died of electrocution in Talab Tillo area of city outskirts.
“Sita Devi (50) wife of Bahadur Singh, resident of Chakroi (RS Pura) today consumed some poisonous substance at her residence,” a police official said. He said woman’s family members shifted her to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where she passed away at about 2:30 PM.
He said after postmortem, the body was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceedings in this connection were initiated at police station RS Pura.
Meanwhile, a young man from UP namely Govinda (18) son of Charan, who was presently residing at Talab Tillo, received severe electric shock at his residence. He was immediately rushed to GMCH Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead. The body was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital while Talab Tillo police had taken cognizance of the matter.
