POONCH, Aug 24: A woman consumed poison near Fire and Emergency Services office at Purani Poonch here today.
Official sources said that the woman identified as Shamshad Begum, wife of Hakim Din (an SPO), a resident of Gulpur in Poonch was found near Fire Brigade Complex having consumed poison. A small kid was also moving along the woman who was crying.
A police team rushed on spot and lady was taken to District Hospital, Poonch where she was provided treatment.
Dr Sarfaraz said that she has consumed poison, her stomach was immediately washed and she was still under treatment in the hospital. The police recorded the statement of the woman and started investigation.
