Woman dies, 38 test +ve in Jammu; no case in Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, Aug 5: A 38-year-old woman died of COVID-19 in Rajouri district while 38 persons tested positive in Jammu region and 90 in Kashmir division.
For the first time during second COVID wave, the Union Territory of Ladakh didn’t report any COVID positive case today. Ladakh now has only 67 active positive cases.
A 38-year-old woman hailing from Darhal in Rajouri district died of COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri today. She had no other ailments.
With this, Jammu region’s Corona toll has reached 2148 and that of Rajouri to 227.
As against 38 new cases, 10 persons recovered from the virus in Jammu region. Kathua, Samba and Ramban districts didn’t report any fresh cases today.
Jammu region now has 553 active positive cases.
Meanwhile, Kashmir reported 90 cases of COVID-19 today.
Those who tested positive include 42 from Srinagar, 2 from Baramulla, 9 from Budgam, 7 from Pulwama, 9 from Kupwara, 2 from Anantnag, 4 from Bandipora, 9 from Ganderbal and 6 from Kulgam.
As per officials figures, 71,536 positive cases including 833 deaths and 70,366 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,687 including 282 deaths and 23,268 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,933 including 22,648 recoveries and 206 deaths are from Budgam, 15,208 including 14,966 recoveries and 194 deaths are from Pulwama, 14,098 including 165 deaths and 13,900 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,334 including 16,092 recoveries and 205 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,495 cases including 9,365 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,954 including 9,805 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,278 including 11,134 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,585 including 5,521 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 200,108 including 197,065 recoveries and 2,238 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,358 including 805 from Kashmir division.
With 83 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 316,398 which is 98.22 percent of the total cases.
