Woman dies after being hit by dumper in Samba’s Dhalote

SAMBA, Dec 25: A septuagenarian woman died after she was hit by a dumper at Dhalote area of Samba district.
Bishno Devi (70) wife of Amar Nath of Dubb, Samba, was on way to her home when she was hit by a dumper coming from Basantar Riverside, a police official said.
The woman died on-the-spot, he said.
Meanwhile, after getting information, the family members of the deceased woman and locals gathered at the accident spot and started raising slogans against the police administration.
Furious, they didn’t even allow the Chowki Incharge Goran to take the body into police’s custody.
Later, SHO Samba Sandeep Charak reached at the accident spot, pacified the protestors, and took the body into custody for performing the post-mortem examinations.
While the driver of the dumper has been arrested, his vehicle has been seized.
A case under the relevant sections of the law has also been registered at police station Samba and further investigation taken up.
