RAJOURI, Jan 13: A woman of Choki Darhal died today in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, where she was admitted for medical treatment allegedly after being tortured by her in-laws.
As per family members of the victim, Nisha Kouser wife of Maroof Malik, resident of Choki Darhal was tortured by her in-laws and when her condition became serious, she was admitted in a hospital in Darhal from where she was referred to GMC Rajouri for treatment. The condition of female was serious and was immediately shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment where she died. The postmortem was conducted in GMC Jammu.
Family alleged that Nisha was tortured by her in-laws which is cause of her death. After legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs.
SHO Darhal Aashiq said that they have started investigation into the case and waiting for postmortem report of the body.
Meanwhile, Family demanded an independent enquiry into the case arrest of the accused in-laws.
