JAMMU, Sept 28: A woman died under mysterious circumstances in New Plot area falling under the jurisdiction of police post Rehari.
“The deceased has been identified as Savitri (31) wife of Army Jawan, Vijay Shanker. She was presently residing with her children in Army Quarters in New Plot area while her husband was on Army training at some other place,” a police official said.
He said the woman was found in unconscious condition yesterday at her residence after which she was rushed to Military Hospital, Satwari, where doctors declared her as brought dead. “Today after getting conducted postmortem at Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites,” he added.
The police official said that there was no injury on the body of the deceased. He said prima facie it appears that the woman died of cardiac arrest but the exact reason will be known after the outcome of the postmortem report. The Rehari police has initiated inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC in this connection.
