Woman dies of burn injuries, another hangs self to death

JAMMU, July 1: A woman, who was seriously injured in a fire mishap at her temporary residence here in Resham Ghar area, today succumbed to her injuries in Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu while another woman allegedly ended her life by hanging self at her residence in Marh area of city ourskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a woman identified as Pritama Devi (30) wife of Jai Bahadur Patel, a resident of Chhattisgarh  (at present Resham Ghar) received serious burn injuries in a fire that broke out at her ‘Jhuggi’ while cooking food on June 15. “Since then she was battling for life at GMCH Jammu where she expired today”, the spokesman added.
He said that the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities while the concerned police has already taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, another woman identified as Pinki Devi (37) wife of Sardari Lal, a resident of village Denachak in Tehsil Marh, alleged committed suicide today by hanging self at her residence. The body of the deceased woman was found hanging this morning by the family members. On getting information police reached the pot and shifted the dead body to GMCH, where after conducting post mortem and completing legal formalities, it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered in this concern at police station Domana and investigations started.
